Muse: The Brain-Sensing Headband Giveaway with Clarissa Mae Yoga and The Giving Mom

in collaboration with Gaiam

We believe in the many benefits that a consistent meditation practice can bring to your life. We also recognize the difficulties that come along with being still, silent and un-occupied for an extended period of time, especially in this day and age. Which is why we’re thrilled to be partnering with The Giving Mom and Clarissa Mae Yoga to give away a Muse: Brain-Sensing Headband to one lucky winner!

Muse is a brain-sensing headband designed to make meditation easier. It provides you with real-time audio feedback on what’s happening in your brain when you meditate, alerting you know when your mind wanders and teaching you to regain focus. Think of Muse as your personal guide to meditation as you journey toward a calmer and more present self. Paired with a mobile app, some of the features include:

  • Learning the essentials of focused attention meditation
  • Free Muse app available for download on your smartphone
  • Multiple soundscapes including Beach and Rainforest
  • Milestones and rewards keep you motivated
  • Option to create multiple accounts and share with family and friends
  • End of session results and graphs help measure progress

Here’s how it works: EEG sensors allow Muse to detect and measure your brain activity, just like a heart monitor measures heart rate. Your Muse device sends this info to your smart phone or tablet using Bluetooth LE and pairs with Calm, a free app with guided sessions designed to train your brain to manage stress and calm your mind.

With in-the-moment feedback, you’ll learn to effortlessly improve focus as you unwind and relax each time you use Muse. Calm lets you track your progress and improve concentration, focus and relaxation over time. Each guided session gives you real-time audio and visual feedback of your brain’s activity. Over just a few sessions – as short as 3 minutes each – you’ll boost mental fitness and mood while feeling more relaxed and calm.

If you’re interested in starting a mediation practice with Muse, your chance to win one has arrived! Our giveaway will take place January 25 - 31, and the winner will be announced on Gaiam’s instagram on February 1. Here’s how to enter:

 Good luck and Happy Meditating!
