Rated 2 out of 5 by RuralNYC Highly portable, but very scratchy
I purchased this travel mat for a summer's worth of travel without any yoga studios nearby. It did fold easily into any size I needed it to be, but packing it was far more enjoyable than using it. The mat itself is quite rough on the hands and on any other skin that comes in contact with it -- it uses roughness rather than "stick" to keep you from slipping. And yet I still slipped. In the end, I did my yoga on regular rugs, and left this folded in the suitcase. I love the idea of a travel mat, but the execution -- at least in this one -- left something to be desired. It was a sad miss of the mark from Gaiam, which usually has such stellar products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CCubed Really Doesn't Slip
This lightweight travel mat is great. I've used it for hot yoga and it absorbs sweat wonderfully and doesn't slip. And it is half the price of the other brand no slip absorbent mat I own. I also like that it is machine washable and dries very quickly hanging over a door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lers Love this mat
I love this mat. It travels wonderfully and I also use it at the club. I have never used it over another mat because I like the discipline of being light on my hands, knees and feet. It gives me the best balance of any matt because I am in touch with the floor. If my hands and feet are too dry, I slip a little, but have learned to raise up more through my core to reduce this. As I heat up, my feet and hands sweat and grip better too. I use it about 4 times a week. This is a great mat! Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by peacelily love this for travel and home!
I bought one of these travel mats before a trip, and love it. I worked well as all the places I stayed were carpeted, and this mat works well on carpet -the sticky side stays in place fairly well, and the softer side is nice against your skin, but still not slippery. I liked it so much then I now use it at home and in class on top of my standard mat -it gives me an extra little layer of cushion, and feels so much nicer than that sticky mat feel. It absorbs perspiration and can be thrown in the washing machine on delicate if it becomes dirty. The other reviewer mentioned that it did not stay in place well, and it doesn't stay as well as a traditional mat, but I have very little trouble with it moving, and I do not find that my feet slip, and a little movement is a small price to pay for having a mat so portable. With all the restrictions on airline luggage, a regular mat would sure take up a lot more room!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by yoga1 good concept, but not easy to use
i think the concept is great - and for me, portability was the issue so it fulfilled that need. HOwever, when i actually used it, the mat on the sticky side was too sticky and bunched up that it was hard to keep steady. On the smooth side, it was too smooth thus my hands and feet couldn' t grip and my form was compromised.
