Rated 5 out of 5 by HebeSue I originally had a Rodney Yee Back Care video tape that seemed to combine both of these (Healing Yoga and Back Care) but this has updates. The company originally sent me an 8 year old DVD "Back Care Yoga" but a phone call seems to have corrected not sending me the much more recent Yoga for Back Care. Gaiam said I should received the replacement in about a week.

The CD is very conscious and easy to follow. I have done yoga before and have not been so aware of every part of my body as I do the exercises. The pace is perfect so that i can pay attention to the movements and the effects within the body. Excellent and thorough. Thanks Rodney Yee for caring for all of us.

Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent
I love this DVD, and I've got some serious back pain issues: a double whammy of scoliosis and multiple sclerosis! Rodney Yee's calm, reassuring manner, gentle pacing, clear instructions, and fabulous poses really provide relief for my back. And, let's face it, ladies, Rodney's got that totally hot yoga bod - motivation to work out in the morning! Some days this DVD is a little too challenging for me, but most days I can get through the 20-minute workout just fine and really feel like I've accomplished something. If I can do it, so can you. I am 41, if that's helpful to anyone who's considering this DVD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ironwom Fixes Upper Back Too
I learned yoga from Rodney Yee DVDs 10 years ago. He has very good pacing, a gorgeous voice, and excellent production values. As I have aged, my UPPER back gets kinked frequently; my chiropractor calls it variously "computer back" and "airplane back" depending on what I've been doing lately. This DVD is nearly perfect for me when my back hurts. I have arthritis in my HIPS and it helps this too. I now have regular yoga classes with a live instructor. Recently I felt something seize in my mid-back during Warrior I of all things. I stopped and began doing the simple sequences I remember from Yoga for Back Care, and by the end of Savasana I felt much better. I did the whole DVD at home the next morning and my back was almost pain free. Repeat as needed! A few words about the props and pacing in this DVD: keep the remote close at hand to allow yourself time to set up props between poses. Rodney does go a little too fast in the transitions. I do have a pair of blocks that are helpful, but you can still use your shins or whatever to rest on in between. I do not have a bolster, instead I use several blankets and fold them in various ways to accommodate the poses. I do use chairs as suggested because these are wonderful poses for back relief. I also do Pilates on a regular basis for strengthening; I consider this DVD medicine for an ailing back primarily, not a daily routine, although I could imagine it being used as such. It is like magic!
