Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good filter This filter works really good and the water taste wonderful. The filter does last 1 year so is not too expensive to replace due to its longevity. August 21, 2008
Rated 5 out of 5 by Water Tastes Better My husband and I live in NYC and bought this filter when we first moved here. We liked that it was a countertop filter and always thought it worked well. Recently, a year after installing it, we noticed the water tasted really disgusting and needed a new filter. We can't wait until our replacement gets here and we can have good water again! Rated 5 out of 5 by Countertop Water Filter - Chrome Model Best Water filterEver!!!!!!!!!! A water filter attached to the frig would be ideal, but would have to buy a new frig. For years, and years, struggled with a brita filter that attaches to the faucet. Major pain. A huge weight has been lifted getting this product. Easy to install, easy to use. July 29, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for Frequent Tea/Coffee Drinker Have been using the Britta for several years, but really needed something slightly better and certainly faster for teavana teas & specialty single origin coffees. This has been perfect! Leak a little at first, but we realized it needed to be tightened and a quick twist solved that problem. A huge money saver, speedy operation, tasty water. March 1, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Glad I bought it! My municipal water tastes terrible!! Now, with this water filter, it tastes great! It is easy to use, too. I am now able to use pure drinking water, when cook, make coffee, etc. and my pets drink pure water, as well! It was very easy to install. The chrome is quite attractive and easy to clean. Will we have to unscrew the whole mechanism from the kitchen faucet in order to attach the dishwasher adapter nozzle?  Or is there an easier way?

Answer:
The countertop water filter comes with an adapter so the filter can be easily connected to the majority of faucets. We are not sure if this adapter/aerator can be connected to another one like the one that you would probably need for a portable dishwasher.

Answer:
The unit will only filter when you activate the plunger that is located on the piece that attaches to your faucet. When you are running hot water as long as the plunger is not pressed in it will bypass the filter. You do not need to disconnect the filter each time.

The Real Goods site has this water filter flagged as not "not for sale in California." Your product info doesn't mention this and I don't see why this would be a problem if this is truly NSF certified. Can you please confirm is this is available to Californians?

Answer:
It is avaliable to California residents at this time. Real Goods hasn't updated their website as we just recently have been able to ship to California. It wasn't available because to sell water filters in California you have to have not only an NSF certification but also a California regulated test done in state. The state didn't have a test for this type of carbon filter previously.
