Rated 4 out of 5 by nice rack but.. Rick is perfect BUT, two were delivered damaged. Packing leaves much to be desired. GAIAM did take it back. The rack is great for wet work clothes. July 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for my little laundry room! Since moving into my new home, I decided to get a 'real' drying rack. I saw this one and thought it would fit perfectly in my little laundry room. It was easy to install and the rack's design allows you to hang sooo many clothes! I love how it looks on the wall; with the shelf and hooks- very functional. May 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by drying rack I ordered this rack to use in my kitchen for a pasta drying rack (in fact I think Gaiam got the idea from me and changed their description as I don't remember it being described as such, whatever) The wood was a bit rough and needed some additional sanding, but overall the construction is quite sturdy and it is very attractive. I may seal it with a clear varnish as well, but right now it looks great on my kitchen wall with the pasta machine on the top shelf and additional kitchen tools hung on the shaker knobs. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good investment I've been very happy with this rack. I have it in my laundry room for air drying delicate clothes and for airing out my swim gear. Between the shelf, the expandable rack and the hooks, there is a lot of drying space and it folds flat when not in use. Not hard to install. January 19, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by good buy A little smaller than expected. The dowels' placement is a bit tight, but seems sturdy enough. Very unfinished so I think I'll shellac it for long term use. Planning on using it as a drying rack for my towels in the bathroom. December 20, 2009

I purchased this Wall Shelf Drying Rack to go into our newly painted bathroom, would you recommend painting it? I know a stain or varnish may cause stains on clothing, but will primer and paint do the same? What kind of paint do you recommend to repel mildew and mold? Any special precautions to look for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
You can paint it to match your bathroom. I would sand it lightly before you paint it. The paint you used on your walls should be fine I typically would use a semi-gloss or gloss paint for in the bathroom. As long as you give it a few days to dry before you use it the paint shouldn't stain your towels.
