If the scent diminishes, simply soak the mat in water and let air dry; the aroma will be revived.

Vetiver is a very durable root harvested from the vetiver grass plant. Vetiver is strongly antimicrobial, and will resist mold and mildew. To clean, the bath mat should only be rinsed in water, without chemicals. 24"W x 36"L

Vetiver is a perennial grass native to India, closely related to other fragrant grasses such as lemongrass. It’s cultivated for aromatherapy and for erosion control. When vetiver fibers get wet, they release aromatic oils.

Purchases of this vetiver bath mat support local artisan who harvest the roots. Vetiver growth holds soil together to diminish mud slides in heavy rains.

If the scent diminishes, simply soak the mat in water and let air dry; the aroma will be revived.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Not What I Thought It Would Be Wish I had the same experience on most of these reviews. I purchased this about 3 months ago and never really had a fragrance from it worth talking about. I tried to revive the smell as they say and so far no good. I do like the roughness of the mat. Rated 4 out of 5 by Vetiver great; cotton border not so much The vetiver mat works like a charm-- smells nice, a bit exfoliating and after a while, soft. However, the cotton border, not so much -- no way to clean that out, so it discolors after a while. Would prefer if the mat was completely made out of vetiver.  April 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this mat I love the smell. The slight rough texture feels great underfoot...very spa-like. I may be ordering more! October 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this spa-like bath mat! I purchased this bath mat for our master bathroom and my husband and I both love it! It smells wonderful and looks beautiful in our contemporary/transitional bath. My husband loves it so much he asked me to get an extra to keep in the closet for when this one wears out. I'm thinking about doing it because it would make everything in the closet smell wonderful! Overall, it's a very spa-like bath mat! August 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wonderous matt, smells super! Best matt to have because of the inviting vetiver sent. Not sure how long the edges will stay white. July 18, 2012

Answer:
This bath mat can be draped over the sower door when not in use. We recommend that you do not let it completely dry as it may take on the folded shape and not lay flat.

The edge of the mat has gotten dirty and has some mildew. Any suggestions on how to clean the edges of the mat, which are not vetiver?

Answer:
I just brought it to the kitchen sink, wet the edges and used dish soap and a rag to clean it... just soaped t up and then rinsed. Took no time at all and looks great. Then I just hung it over a bench outside and it dried in about 30 minutes... in the shade!

Answer:
You could use some soapy water, or a little laundry detergent and water on a tooth brush. If you don't have an old tooth brush you can use any sort of small bristle brush will do. Scrub the edges and then you can soak the entire thing when you rinse it. I would use a sprayer on just the edges to help get the soap out.

Answer:
I would suggest water and a nylon brush at first. If that doesn't work I would dilute a mild soap with water and then use the brush or rag to apply and clean the mat with.

Will it unravel right away, or if I redo the border will it be OK? It's too big for my bathroom.

Answer:
It will likely unravel. If you redo the edge you might be OK however we can't guarantee that it wont unravel. Cutting the mat will make it the item void of any refunds or exchanges.

Answer:
It used to come in a 4x6 from Gaiam, but they discontinued it about a year ago. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else in the larger size.
