Balance Ball Sizing Chart
Height Ball Size
5'0" to 5'5" Small: 55cm/22"
5'6" to 5'11" Medium: 65cm/26"
6'0" to 6'3" Large: 75cm/30"

The Balance Balls are very sturdy and weight tested to hold up to 300 pounds when properly inflated. Before inflating a ball, check for any damage. It is normal for the ball to have slight creases (fold marks) when first inflated. Do not attempt to repair a ball if it has been punctured or gouged. Make sure that the ball is at room temperature before inflating. Please note that a new ball will not be able to inflate to its full capacity initially. After a few hours, the ball will be more pliable and you can add more air at that time. Gift wrap not available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Deal I've had balance balls in the past and never used them. I use this balance ball because everything comes with it for a complete workout! The video is great and I love how it targets different areas of the body, a whole workout in one. I am 5'2" but will be getting another ball that is one size up. I feel a bigger sized ball will fit my body better for certain exercises. I got the smallest sized ball and will also purchase the medium ball. May 21, 2009
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great ball, the DVD doesn't work I just purchased the balance ball, and I tried to put the dvd on my DVD player, but the images are blurry and it doesn't let me play the routines.. I checked that there are other customers with the same problem. What can I do? January 21, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Broken DVD The balance ball is perfect and the size is great! I got the 65 for myself and my husband to share. I tried some activities on my own at first to get used to it (I am a recovering couch potato!) But when I put the DVD in to use, it made a horrible sound in my DVD player and ended up breaking it! I thought it was a bit weird as I had also ordered other fitness DVD's from Gaiam and had no issues. I also tried it on my computer and had the same issue. Makes a loud noise and will not play! Rated 3 out of 5 by Sizing chart for ball seems off I read l the reviews before purchasing this ball and should  have been more cautious. Another reviewer mentioned the ball size was not appropriate for height.  I ordered the 55 ball and it is too small for me.  I am 5'4".  According to the size chart it should have been appropriate.  The ball also had  such a strong odor I had to remove it from the room.  However, the odor did dissipate after a few hours. Rated 5 out of 5 Cure for the Chronic Couch Potato! This kit is hands-down the best investment I've made in an exercise program! I'm a habitual couch potato anyway, & when I recently began to suffer chronic back/neck pain, I used that as an excuse not to exercise. But I finally dragged my butt off the couch as my pain increased & nothing else seemed to help. I was attracted to this kit because it's no/low impact & is a complete package, which is great for a novice like me. And I LOVE it! I've had it 3 weeks & been using it 5 days a week...and I actually look forward to doing it, which is a first for me! The DVD instructor is personable, explains things fully & makes the workouts fun (without being annoyingly perky, thank goodness!). I love the variety of workouts on the DVD, as well - different muscle groups, different time lengths, different challenge levels & an option to customize the workout order. Even better, I can feel a difference in my back/neck pain (please consult your doc first), which is AMAZING! Gaiam, thank you for creating the cure for this couch potato - my health is getting better all the time! December 4, 2011

Answer:
The best way to tell if you ball is properly inflated is to go to a wall and measure out 55, 65, or 75cm depending on which ball you have and place a box or book. Then place your ball between the wall and the object and pump the ball until it touches both the wall and your object.

I recently purchased a balance ball from another company and came to realize that it contained harmful chemicals that the state of California has found to be carcinogenic.
Do the balance balls from gaiam also contain such warnings?

Answer:
Our balance balls are made of 6P free PVC. We test our products to a standard that follows the guidelines for California Prop 65 Sports equipment and Exercise Weights requirements. None of the Gaiam products carry this warning.

Between Sizes

My height, 5' 5.5", falls exactly between 2 ball sizes according to your chart. Would you recommend rounding up to the medium, or down to the small? My legs-to-torso are averagely proportioned.

Answer:
I would go ahead and get the 65 cm ball. You're close enough in suggested height that I think you would like it better if you were able to test both sizes out side by side.

No the larger balls will not properly fit within the base and will end up warping and potentially popping.

Answer:
They are the same the only difference is the packaging. The Eco packaging was a test we did when we first came out with the 6p free formula.
