Rated 5 out of 5 by Hits every area! This DVD is one of my top 3 favorites!  It's hits all areas and you do every type of workout. Pilates, Yoga, jump training, cardio, weights and balance. I'm 5'4" 115 lbs and a set if 10 lbs weights are perfect for this work out. She doesn't use a mat in the work out, but you'll need one. Tanja is always awesome!   March 3, 2014

Once you get started, Tanja makes this tough workout fun. It always improves my mood as well as my body. It is nice to have the option of a shorter or longer workout, too. August 4, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good, but not for beginners I think this DVD is great for someone who is already in shape and familiar with the moves.  The pace is intense, and Tanja has an upbeat personality.   I don't think it's good for a beginner, for a few reasons.  The cues are somewhat limited.  If you don't already know how to properly do a triangle pose, or lunge, you'll have to constantly look at the screen, which is awkward.  Even then, she doesn't give modifications for beginners, or for people who might have knee issue or other injuries.  In fact, in one spot on the express workout she actually says "you can do the 'cute' workout, and do it like this, or you can give it 110% like this..."  What she refers to as the 'cute' workout is more appropriate for those at a beginner fitness level.  It shouldn't be said in a condescending way.  I think it might be frustrating, and possibly pose risk of injury, for beginners to attempt this workout.  Especially if they are unfamiliar with ways to modify the workout to prevent injury, or with some of the stretching poses.   If you're a beginner and want a challenge, then go for it.  But watch the video all the way through first, then make sure you know how to modify the more challenging moves, like the yoga stretches, squats and lunges. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Results I was always looking how to do low impact cardio. This is an amazing workout. I never imagine it was going to be so effective, to me. It is not boring and it helped me with the last key to finally have the results in compliment with strength training w/o equipment using your own body weigh! June 30, 2011

I use Gaiam's Wake Up Workout on hulu plus and my favorite is Cardio Burn Sculpt with Tanja, the first episode. I'm trying to keep track of my calories so I wanted to know how many calories do you burn with the first episode of this workout?

Everyone is different based on your size and weight. Try using an app like Fitness Pal. I'm 5'4" 115 lbs and I burn about  370 calories doing 55 min of circuit training.

Unfortunately since their are so many factors that go in to determining how many calories you have burned we do not have that information file.

Order of exercises

I just got the DVD cardio burn sculpt and I looked over all of it. I saw a bonus feature on core areas. If I have not done cardio much but I am in good shape with bpowfl;ex machine should I just start for a month with core bonus and then the express workout then to workout or which order?

I always say jump right into it. If you do start with the shorter version only do it once or twice. You don't need a month. Your body is amazing, you'll feel great!

You should try to do the whole 50min program and see how you feel from there. I personally would do the 50 min to get a feel for the over all work out and then start daily the 10 min exercise and bonus in the same session and work your way up from there. It really is up to you. There isn't a specific sequence that was in mind when making it into segments.

I almost purchased the DVD again and that would have been a terrible waste of resources! Rather than re-marketing the old DVD please have Tanja make a new DVD since she's the best. Thanks.

The Cardio Burn & Sculpt DVD is new, but also formerly released as Total Body Cardio. If you do not already have either of these titles that feature Tanja, then this would be a great addition to your collection. If you are searching for her newest release, I believe you are looking for 05-52356 Total Body Cardio DVD.
