Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Video! I bought this video to use with a friend of mine on our "off" days of Pilates. We really love it, we both have some issues with our knees. The exercises in the video work to strengthen the muscles around the knees, so you are getting a great workout that you can really feel, without hurting your knees. I haven't done the exercises enough to notice a difference with my knee strength, but I know I will when I start doing them more. I did notice my leg muscles feeling VERY worked both times I watched it. It seriously targets the hamstrings & quads. I also really like Chantal, she is very down to earth and easy to watch. She also does a good job of demonstrating the different muscles & how they affect the knees. I would definitely buy another one of her videos. January 8, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 really solid PT/rehab video I have had two knee surgeries - ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair, and a micro-fracture surgery to repair my cartilage, both in the left knee. I have been through a ton of PT. The exercises in this video are exactly the exercises I started with at the Hospital for Special Surgery's PT department in New York City. As I got stronger, other exercises were added. However, I let myself go and stopped my exercises, resulting in a very weak left leg, stiff hips, and pain in the knee cap when going up and down stairs. The exercises on this video, the form the women keep while doing them, and the reserved and sincere encouragement by Ms. Donnelly made me feel as though I was in a proper PT course with a qualified, trained professional. Really, superb video. I have to say that I have seen other videos - yoga, pilates, meditation, dance/fitness - and the instructors on most annoy me, somehow seeming somewhat forced or insincere. I don't know why that comes across but for me it does. Ms. Donnelly is the exact antithesis - she clearly is empathetic and encouraging, as well as knowledgeable and professional. Really, I am so impressed. Thank you for putting this together - I think I can get range of motion and muscle mass & strength back by starting this program, as though I was starting PT again. Rated 5 out of 5 by Rehab painful knees at home This DVD has such simple instructions, anybody can follow along and benefit. My husband and I like the relaxed pace and knees are already feeling more stable after just a week. In fact the whole leg is improving because of the stretches taught.. This surely beats going to rehab to stretch and strengthen 72 and 89 year old knees. August 9, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by knees As far as I can determine from the content description, this is the same DVD that Gaiam sold with a different picture on the cover. The cover I have shows a woman in athletic shoes, white shorts and lavender top with hands on her hips, doing a forward-step with right leg forward, left leg back, lunge. It annoys me that Gaiam repackages their "old" DVDs without indicating that anywhere in the material. I have in the past unknowingly purchased duplicate material because of that. This particular "knee" DVD is, I think, identical to that previous one and if so, I like it! It has been a clear, safe, smart program for knee health and even one with "bad" knees can do it and will likely find improvement through doing it routinely. Nice program by Chantal Donnelly (the one I have), very well done, effective. Recommend it! August 21, 2012

Hi, I'm a 20 year old female who has never had a knee injury, but I do (not so serious, non-pointe) ballet, running, lots of walking (especially with a heavy backpack) and some pilates here and there and would really love to prevent any sort of injury. How often should I do this? 3 times a week is a lot considering all the other workouts I do plus class - right now I do it once a week. (Maybe I could do the full version once a week and the abridged version a few times a week?)

If you want you can do it everyday, however you need to do it at least 3 times a week to see results.

Don't know but it isn't going to hurt. I believe these excercises are more preventative than for repair. But when my knees became sore, I found excercises to do before paying the doctor. For $15 it's worth the try

It's hard to say without seeing your ability in person. Our DVD's are returnable after viewing so if it is to uncomfortable for you it can be returned for a refund.
