This CD was initially helpful but less so as I use it more often. The man's voice in the beginning of the CD is soothing, but goes on for a long time after you have heard it often; you can skip this introduction and go right to the music, which I think is soothing but not that different from other meditation/yoga/reikki music. I would have preferred an intro separate from the meditation aspects so I could skip what I've just about memorized but not miss the meditation guides to relax the body, which come up just before the music.

Since I have a problem sleeping throughout the night, I began trying various CDs to help me get to sleep if I awaken in the night. Ocean sounds, flute sounds and even thunderstorms are good, but they are not as effective as having a reassuring voice tell me that many other people have this issue and that there are ways to handle this problem. Focusing on my breathing has been a very effective tool. It is a way to redirect the worries of the day and has a secondary calming effect. The beautiful music that follows the Doctor has been perfectly selected. Usually I am asleep before the whole CD plays out.I just love it and am so grateful that I do not need to take sleeping pills. I hope that other sleep CDs come along by this same physician. My personal thanks to him.

The music is a bit different than my usual taste, but it was easy to get used to. The techniques used and the duration of the CD are very effective for me.

I downloaded the cd to my ipod so it is available at home or when I travel. The guided relaxation on the first track and soothing music on tracks 2-3 usually knock me out. My teen daughter occasionally listens to the cd when she has trouble relaxing into sleep.
