Technology Glossary

Carbon: removes common household odors from cleaners, paints, solvents and other chemical substances.

HEPA = High Efficiency Particulate Air: filter traps tiny airborne particles. Rated 99.97% removal at 0.3 microns in size.

Ion = Ionization: ions attract and attach themselves to airborne irritants, including smoke, dander and bacteria. The irritants are then drawn into the filter or dropped to the ground, out of the air.

UV = Ultraviolet Light: when exposed to UV, bacteria and viruses are killed on contact. *Volatile Organic Compounds

1Life expectancy of any air filter media is dependent on the concentration of the contaminants to which the system is exposed.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 34 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exactly what I have been looking for! I had a purifier like this years ago that worked wonderfully near my cats litter box.  Then I couldn't get them any more.  This  works exactly the same way.  I love it so much I have ordered a second one. June 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product I bought one of these a few years ago to use in my office.  I have issues with most perfumes and we have no operable windows.  This actually REMOVES the odors and leaves an "after the rain" smell.  It has stopped working a couple of times and I tap it and the light comes back on - good as new!  I just ordered another for pet areas.  (and a back up in case  the office one fails - I would not want to be with out it!!) Rated 5 out of 5 by Fabulous product! It took only  24 hrs to clean my air in the basement hall. I had tried so many products to rid this area of a funky chemical smell. I will be purchasing more to place in other parts of my home. May 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A functional purchase Purchased two for my daughters' dorm rooms. Sani-mate is an easy plug-in. My daughter reported no more odors in the bathroom once plugged in. I like the fact that it comes with three pages of scientific data; providing a clear understanding of how Sani-mate works. October 5, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 Sani-Mate Review This product does not really do anything. And if it does, it is not noticeable. I have not observed any difference in my air quality/scent at all. The only thing I have observed is the low hum that it gives off. After trying it out for four months, I have recently stopped using it as it was doing nothing but wasting electricity. I would not recommend this product. May 21, 2012

I have clay cat litter and there is fine dust that comes from this and coats everything. I would love to be able to filter this out of the air before it settles on everything.

Answer:
The Sani-Mate is made to filter airborne particles. While the litter dust is airborne it would help to reduce the build up, however it may not completely eliminate the settled clay particles.

Answer:
For more immediate relief you would need to go with a filter that has a fan and an actual filter medium of some sort that the air passes through. This would help the smell eventually but it would likely be long after you have left the room.

Answer:
The average life span is about 3 to 4 years. As long as the indicator light is glowing your unit is still effectively working. When it doesn't light up any longer is when it needs to be replaced.
