Rated 4 out of 5 by works nice These are good products that do seem to work well for catching wasp and other irritating bugs. My only concern is that the cork lids only last a few months, then quickly disintegrate, but I was lucky to find some replacement corks at a nearby craft store. August 30, 2010

I didn't realize these were so big - my concern is adding sweet stuff to attract the wasps... is there any chance of a hummingbird getting trapped by accident? We also have hummingbird feeders so hope it won't be a problem.

Thanks!

Answer:
We have one of the wasp catchers in our back yard and, humming birds and I have never had any get caught in there. If you were really concerned you could super glue wires in cross across the bottom so that way a humming bird would be able to fly up it but wasps could.

Answer:
This will work on any wasp species so this should be effective on yellow jackets. However depending on how big your wasp problem is this might only trap some of them.

Everywhere I've hung this, the ants have found it long before the wasps did. Most of the ants are able to get themselves out, so it became an ant feeder...something I don't exactly need.

You might try it with just water or nothing in it at all. This is the first complaint I have had of the ants taking over it so I don't really have a suggestion.
