Rated 4 out of 5 by midnite simple and effective relief
when I got it first it appeared to be a little cheaper material looking than I thought , but it does its work well, giving me an instant pressure relief from my chronically stiff neck from work injuries. I always use it with a towel over it.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He LOVES it- although I scooped it up from him and use it alllll the time- watching TV- reading in bed- in totally relaxes my neck and shoulders. Bravo!

I also bought 2 of these for xmas-- one for mom & one for me. I gave mom a quick facial and put this under her head while she lie on the massage table. I didn't show it to her in advance since it was not yet Christmas and she hadn't opened her gift. She immediately said, "Oooh! what's that? It feels wonderful!" She spends way too many hours on the computer at work and is generally very stressed out, so she's probably the poster child for the Real-EASE. She wanted to sleep on it but I discouraged it. (Who knows if she's sneaking now that she has her own).
As far as using it sitting up goes, I've tried and found it rather uncomfortable. The vertebrae are so pronounced at the top of my spine that they tend to bump into that plastic curl at the base. I also agree a washable little silk-ish bag would be a nice touch. I imagine after a lot of use the foam cushion would start to get kinda yucky and break down. Generally, however, I like this item.

I purchased 2 of the real ease products for Christmas. My sister and I both suffer from different forms of neck related problems and we both love this product. The pressure is instantly released and for those 10-15 minutes it feels like pure bliss. This is a wonderful product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by HealthyChoices Immediate Relief from recurrent neck pain
I bought this in desperation - although fit, I suffer from a posturally aggravated previous whiplash.
This looks hard and unforgiving, yet gives more relief than even sculpted down pillow into the back of the neck, stays put in just about any upright propped position for ease of reading if in pain and provides immediate relief, whether upright or prone.
A small silk cover bag for hygeine and softening effect would be a good idea.
