Rated 3 out of 5 by yogayoga dissappointed with this kit
The DVD that accompanies the yoga kit shows a yoga mat with markings to align your feet, but the mat in the kit does not have the same markings.
Also, the pace of the daily yoga routine was too fast for a beginner. I had trouble keeping up with the rapid changes in pose which was rather discouraging.

Bought this for my wife this past Christmas. Extremely fast delivery, much the same as my earlier purchase of the Yogacise Body Lift. Will most certainly purchase other items from this company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by riverpainter A great gift and a great intro to YOGA
I purchased this kit for myself and use it twice daily. What a great way to start and end the day. It is such a wonderful addition to my life I purchased a kit for my best friend and daughter.
The kit is well put together. The DVD is easy to follow and very well done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Syndria Must for beginners
I have absolutely no experience with yoga and on suggestion from a friend came to Gaiam.
This kit has everything you need to begin your path to wellness.
The block and strap are almost essential for a first timer, they helped me understand the stability of each pose. One of the Dvd's shows you how to use them and WHY. Important for some. Very helpful for first timers.
Rodney Yee has a very calming and clear voice. His instruction is simple and concise.
For those beginning or those unable to find good beginner classes near by, this is an excellent start kit.
The price can NOT be beat.

After much searching, I actually found this kit in a store. I've been doing yoga off/on for a couple years now, and lately have really started to try becoming healthier, stronger, more flexible, etc. and knew I wanted to get back into yoga. I've been using a towel for about a month, and after becoming reacquainted with the basic poses decided I needed a mat. I turned to Gaiam, of course, because I knew I could trust the quality (which is great in this kit). The mat itself is great, just sticky enough to keep me from slipping around (however, it doesn't match the mat that Rodney Yee uses in the DVD, which I found a little odd; I would have liked the one I saw him use as I think it would have helped with alignment a little more than the one that was included in the kit - the one he uses has more bars on it so you can remember where your feet and hands should be for your own comfort level). The foam block is great, taking all the weight I put on it without bending or warping at all. The strap is nice and long, and works well to keep my mat rolled up! The DVD is fantastic. The Daily Yoga routine is really perfect, and just the right amount of time (twenty minutes). The A.M. yoga routine is equally wonderful, and does a great job of energizing me for my day. To get the DVD, strap, block, and mat all for thirty dollars is a STEAL. Seriously. Especially considering how great a teacher Rodney Yee is. My only issue with the DVD is that he doesn't take the time to explain the basic postures presented in the routines, which I feel would be very helpful for somebody who is truly a beginner and knows very little about yoga. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase. If you are thinking about getting this kit, BUY IT. The best thirty dollars you'll ever spend. : )
