The Towel does absorb. However, it still moves around on the mat, so I am constantly fidgeting with it. It's absorbent but not super absorbent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by meches9 Great for hot yoga
This towel is great for hot yoga or if you're like me and hands get sweaty in any yoga class. It doesn't slip and slide or bunch up (like some I have used). I put it right over my regular yoga mat, spray a little water near hands and feet, and then go. Best part- I can throw this towel in the wash (cold cycle) and it still works great. :)

I really love these towels, I bought 4 of them along with the grey 5mm yoga mat. After using the two toned purple towel, the color stained my mat. I have been consistently cleaning my mat a bit deeper to get the color out of it. They are nice, just be careful if you really love your mat, the "orchid" two toned one will stain.

I have used the thirsty yoga towel for the first time during my 75 minute practice today. This is my first experience with any brand of hot yoga towels and it definitely meets expectations. It's super absorbent during and after my practice. My two critiques is that it is a bit slippery when dry (though I hear that you can pour water on the towel to decrease the slipperiness) and it is smaller in length and width than my yoga mat (though I have a yoga mat from another company).
Overall, I would recommend this product as it is effective and the price is reasonable!
*Also, for Canadians: duties are actually ridiculous (costing the same amount as my purchase) so I would advise to purchase from Canadian Gaiam site.
