Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by The pace is a little fast for pose integrity I am a big fan of Rodney Yee - this is the 3rd DVD of his I own. But I was a bit disappointed in this DVD. The pace is too fast to do the poses with integrity or really settle into the stretches. I understand he is wanting to generate heat and increase the cardio aspect, but this isn't his best DVD. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great DVD I have owned this DVD for years and I still workout to it, it has never gotten old. My favorite! March 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Yoga Must Have! I have purchased this DVD more than once. When friends or family show interest in yoga I will give them this one to start with. The flexibility portion is perfect for beginners but also works well for intermediate levels too. The flow of Rodney's yoga style is quick enough to keep those that are transitioning from a more "active" exercise but slow enough to assist in proper alignment. I must say I am a bit bias when it comes to Rodney Yee. Over the past 3 years I have purchased TONS of DVD's and he is by far my favorite yogi. Soothing, informative, detailed and inspirational are all words I could to describe him. Thank you Rodney, your instruction opened me up to yoga and yoga has changed my life! April 4, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good next step I had previously purchased Yoga for Beginners by Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee, and after using those routines for about six months I wanted to see what the next step would be like. So I purchased Power Yoga for beginners, and I've just started learning the Strength routine. So far I can only do a portion of the Strength routine, but I can tell that this is going to be just what I need. March 15, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent Ownership Good DVD to own if you are just getting into yoga. Rodney Yee is an excellent instructor, and the moves are explained very well. It's challenging but not so hard that you give up. March 10, 2010

Answer:
I definitely feel these workouts more in my shoulders and back. You stretch your legs, but I would say if you are looking to tone the lower body a workout more focused on the core would help, like pilates or a standard workout with squats, lunges, etc.

Answer:
Absolutely! Just doing downward facing dog correctly will tone your hips, hamstrings and calves. This is an excellent collection of basic Sun Salutations that will address every muscle in your body without you even realizing it. That is just one of the beauties of yoga!

Yoga is a total body workout. However if your looking for a video specifically for toning I would go with the Power Yoga Total Body Workout 90-0016.
