Rated 3 out of 5 by just for beginners I was really excited when I first bought this kit because it was something new to add to my exercise regimen. I do have to say that I am a little disappointed, though; the dvd was okay, but was short in length. in fact, when the whole exercise came to an end, I was like "really? that's it?" some parts of the dvd were challenging, however, I also agree that the ring is flimsy, so I'll be buying one that has more resistance & is of better quality, especially since I feel like I might break this one. for the chair exercises, I stayed sitting, Indian-style, on my mat, however, next time I will do them standing. this is mainly just for beginners who have never used a ring or as a warm-up for another exercise. I do love Gaiam's other products, though, so don't let the quality of this ring reflect poorly on other products from Gaiam. March 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing workout, ring is a little flimsy Just did this workout for the first time and it was AMAZING. It allows you to work on your technique as well as getting a good workout in. There are several variations you can do. The DVD is split into two 20 minute workouts, one on the floor and one on the chair. I did notice the ring was different and a bit more flimsy than theirs was. December 30, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Worthwhile Purchase I needed a Pilates ring, and this one did the trick. Good quality overall, and a great price! April 23, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Somewhat Disappointed I first used a toning ring recently during physical therapy for a hip replacement and loved it. But the one I bought from Gaiam is not nearly as sturdy, and doesn't provide enough resistance. I suppose if I follow the video I'll toneup just doing the crunches and stretches, but I don't think the ring helps that much. January 3, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Less intense than expected Based on my enthusiasm for the Ana Caban Beginning and Intermediate Mat workout DVDs I purchased the Ring Kit. I've done ring work in a Pilates studio before, so I was excited to have something to work on at home. The ring is fine for home use, it does well enough, however, I may order a studio quality ring to increase the level of difficulty. I have to say the DVD is okay but I was initally disappointed with it. I thought the intensity would be close to the Intermediate video but the intensity varies significantly between easy and moderate. I recommend Gaim find some way to rate level of effort on videos. Plus, IMO, but I hate anything w/ chair exercises. Much of what was done in the chair we did standing in the studio. But I still get a lot of use out of it and make it work for me. To up the ante, I use the ring with the Intermediate Mat video to increase the difficulty and spice things up. May 24, 2011
