Rated 2 out of 5 by Abs Great LowerBody Beginner These dvd's are an odd pair. I found the Lower Body DVD a breeze. I have never done pilates and was hoping for a challenge but this was not. Also, I find it weird that the cover shot of a side plank isn't included in either work out. The abs DVD however I did really like. I have done the P90X work outs and found this work out just as challenging. I have no idea why they would pair these two dvds together. January 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great DVD! Will Be One of My Fav's! This dvd was just perfect for me. It was intermediate but challenging enough to help me get stronger and build up to the moves. I love that the dvd has one girl doing the moves/poses in an easier/beginner pose and the other girl is doing the poses in an advanced pose. Great for building up to the advanced moves. Great DVD! Rated 3 out of 5 by Ana Caban gets 5 Stars for her DVD This is a two DVD package. I've done pilates before and Ana Caban gives a good workout for the intermediate student. Challenging for me. Jillian Hessel's DVD seemed much more on a beginner level. I think the DVD package is unevenly matched. I am using Ana Caban's workout and love it. I have no use for the CD which was included. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not very challenging I bought these dvd's thinking that they would be a great 1 hour asset to add to my mat repetoire. These are hardly intermediate and they are only 1/2 hour each. Because of the short length, the instructor speeds through the instruction and does about 5 reps each. It would have been a much better video if she'd have taken an hour and done a reasonable amount of reps. Very disappointing. March 9, 2010

Answer: 
Calorie burn is based on your weight, age, and duration/intensity of the exercise. To effectively burn calories you need to be within your target heart rate for extended periods of time. Your target heart rate can be determined by online tools or by your physician. Low-impact aerobics can burn about 6.2 calories a minute, jogging; 11 calories per minute , walking; 4.1 calories per minute. Keep in mind, however, that these are just rough averages and do not account for the variables described above.
The Pilates Sculpt and Tone DVD offers a workout comparable to low-impact aerobics.
