Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just Right I love the simplicity of this comforter. It provides warmth and plushness without overheating me or giving off nasty chemical vapors (I am a woman with heat issues, allergies, and sensitivities). This comforter meets all my needs perfectly with no problems at all. What a relief--I didn't realize how such a simple thing as bedding accessories could promote a comfy, cozy night's sleep! Worth every penney and highly recommended." September 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great comforter Aloha, I have had this for around 3 months now, and I really enjoy it. I get cold really easy, and at the same time I am going through change of life, which brings change of temperature! It is light and keeps me warm and cozy, but not too warm. Actually I sometimes put another blanket over it, because I get cold, and then toss the extra in the morning. Also I live in warm humid climate that gets things moldy, so I was attracted to the fact that it is anti-microbial and anti mold. From reading the other reviews I was afraid it would be stiff and noisy...but its really just fine! If you really want a big fluffy down comforter, this isn't it, but as a warm and lightweight comforter, I am very happy with this purchase. (HOWever! I haven't yet washed it...but I see it needs to be dry cleaned so that is pretty predictable). August 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Comforter I have used this comforter through summer, fall and winter! It does a great job of keeping you warm while not overheating you. March 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cozy in Minnesota With this new comforter on the bed, we can open a window even in winter in Minnesota and stay cozy and comfortable. It adds just the right amount of weight to our covers, too. December 22, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Comforter I purchased this comforter, because my son was allergic to down. I wanted him to be warm and comfy so this seemed the best choice. He loves it! I am thrilled with this purchase. September 23, 2011

The wool comforter is covered in organic cotton, however the wool is not organic. In the spring we will be introducing an organic wool comforter!

Many places use boric acid or other similar things like that, and I'd like to know what you use on your comforters to meet the flammability requirements.

Answer:
We do not use any sort of flame retardants or preservative chemicals on our bedding products including boric acid. While flame retardants are typically the standard in the USA they are not required.

Answer:
Our organic certification is done by a Dutch or Swiss company (depending on the item bedding, clothing, etc) and not by a Chinese establishment. Even if the product is being made in China it is still held to the international standards for Organic textiles which insures us that our items are indeed organic.

Gaiam was founded on the basis of a commitment to individual wellness and the wellness of the planet. In that role we have been a pioneer in a number of areas. We were one of the first companies to make mainstream organic cotton and we are currently one of the largest installation companies of residential solar panels.

As we have grown, so has our realm of suppliers. Currently we source products from all over the world – counties as modern as the US (our 2nd largest source of products) and Italy to emerging nations such as China, Mexico and India. It is commonly known that emerging markets, such as China, often lack the formal environmental standards and audit procedures that mature nations have. We had a choice as to not participating in those markets, or participating with higher standards. In the second role, we feel that we can be a leader in change. When we look to source a product, we ask the factories about their social and environmental standards, and we reward those committed to higher standards with our business. We believe (and have seen) that if we reward manufacturers that produce products in an environmentally and socially sensitive manner, that we are contributing to a positive change in the culture and dynamics of those foreign markets in similar ways that we are able to change consumer shopping here in the US. We continue to monitor our sources and to raise the bar on their social and environmental standards. While we realize we are not perfect, we are continuing to make strides and are committed to effecting positive change in all parts of this planet that we touch.
