Rated 2 out of 5 by celiza good product but way too large
I'm unhappy that because these run so outrageously big compared to when I purchased them a couple of years ago, I had to pay return shipping twice in order to exchange for a smaller size. A couple of years ago I was a size 7, which is a large. I ordered medium this time based on customer reviews of them being big and had to exchange for small, which were also huge, so then exchanged again for x-small, which fit. I am not an extra small person! I think that gaiam should refund me the return shipping on both of these orders because of the faulty sizing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Nicole1075 Underwear doesn't last more than a few month
I love this underwear. It fits great, the colors are nice, it's made from organic cotton, very soft, and the lacy top is so cute. But there's a big problem. After wearing for several months, the lacy top starts to detach. At first it was just a little bit and not a big deal. I little would detach when I put them on. Then more came off and more. The cotton rolls up on itself and doesn't stay up. It also looks bad. Being lace, it's really hard to sew back on. I've had this happen to six different pairs in both styles and in two different colors. I would expect such expensive underwear to last longer. I wash my underwear in an HE washing machine on a normal setting. None of my other clothes are damaged because of the washing machine. Maybe this would happen less if they were washed by hand, but then they should list that in the instructions. I'm very sad about the underwear because I really like them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LALanie Great Panty, but....
Honestly, it's hard not to give these high cut organic panties a 5 star rating. I've tried so many different brands of cotton panties out there & have been very disappointed - most ran super small amongst other issues. I should wear a size 8 or maybe a 9 if they shrink a lot - I have a good size bum & dislike tight clothing. I wear mostly cotton clothing and 'everything' seems to shrink over time especially the organic cottons. I ordered size XL in the amaranth & natural colors. I washed in hot & dried in hot & they shrank very little. I've worn high cut panties 40 yrs, but even if I went down a size I do not think it would solve the issue of the extra material in the center lower backside & the slim cut for the high cut, on either side of the cheeks. I think I need a little bit of extra material on the sides of the cheeks to make it feel more secure, & less material in the lower back seam area. They are still comfy, stretchy, breathable & can wear them though the fit isn't right. These have a wide crotch, which measures 3 3/4" wide at the center. I find it comfortable & even refreshing to not have that part stingy, but I think that the crotch piece of material being so wide is causing it not to fit correctly where it is sewn to the back side of the panty where the connecting seam is, & that is the additional material problem. The natural color panty is about 1 1/2" shorter measuring down from belly button, than the amaranth pair. I was happy these did not seem as thick as expected. These panties are a medium almost thin, but definitely not thick cotton. The crotch is a nice double thickness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Stormydeb Comfortable but not true to size
I have purchased panties from Gaiam for years, The previous line of cotton fair trade panties were comfortable and affordable. This is the first time I have bought their newest product. I have put it off because I think they are too expensive. I have now washed and warn them a couple of times. They are not true to size, running very large. I bought size large, my usual size is 8 or large. Way too big. Despite the extra fabric, they are comfortable and do not ride up. Unfortunately, they did not shrink when dried. If they hold up well, I might order more because at $18 per pair it is an investment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by shadeseeker Fit me perfectly!
I experimented with sizing and ordered a size S and size XS. Apparently they run a little big as I wear an XS in this style and have size 37" hips and 31/32" waist. I must say now that I have the proper size I am very happy with the fit and comfort. They come up just enough to cover a little tummy, just like the photo, but they aren't tight to cause a bulge anywhere. I washed and dried them and there was no shrinkage problem. The leg does not bind and yet they are not baggy either. You'll want to wear these with your pants/skirts which don't fit very low on your hips.
