Rated 3 out of 5 by works well, but use it quick before it expires!!!! This product works well and I was happy with the results, but as I was using it the first time I noticed it expires in two months. I didn't realize that polish remover expires so quickly (or at all!) so I would not purchase it again as I am not likely to finish the bottle so quickly. If you use it a lot it would be fine. Rated 5 out of 5 by Moisturizes Nails and Cuticles This polish remover not only nicely removes the polish, it moisturizes the nail and the cuticle. And no harsh odor! February 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great alternative to toxic removers I bought this for my dauther, because she loves to paint her nails and I didn't want her using toxic products. It is not as fast as traditional removers, but it doesn't have those horrible fumes and leaves the skin around your nails soft. It has a lovely, smooth feel and is effective. I have also used it to safely remove spilled nail polish from a rug and from furniture (works on acrylic craft paint, too!) June 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by No smell nailpolish remover This nailpolish remover doesn't have an offensive odor. It cleans the polish off with a small amount and doesn't burn your skin or cuticles. I love it! April 25, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Stuff I was reticent to purchase this product - seems like all-natural nail polish removers that I've used in the past just didn't cut it! BUT . . . not so with this one. Also, with the money-back guarantee, I felt I had nothing to lose. It removed dark purple with ease, smelled pleasant and I didn't have to use have the bottle to get the job done. I love this stuff and have already purchased another bottle for my daughter. I wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend this to other consumers. Thank you Gaiam for another fantastic product. Answer:
It might (it hasn't been tested on shellac) but you will likely have to soak your nails in the remover for a very long time. The only way I know of removing them is to use 100% acetone (the ingredient in most nail polish removers) You can find undiluted acetone at any beauty supply store.

This will also remove traditional nail polish, but is more effective at removing soy-based polish.
