The full floor mat workout has some difficult moves in it , if you are not strong enough just sit them out until you are. Good workout.

What I like about Mari Winsor is how she thoroughly explains the correct form for each move and emphasizes form throughout. Some of the moves are pretty advanced, but there is a person demonstrating the modified variation of each move for beginners or less flexible people like me. In addition, it's nice that you can choose between the 25 minute and 55 minute workouts. This dvd is beneficial for hard-core pilates pros and beginners alike.

This is an excellent workout that gets better each time I do it. I’ll admit, the first time I did the workout, I wasn’t impressed. Mari gives a lot of explanation of the moves (she instructs but does not do the exercises herself), and at first this seemed like wasted time. But when I approach this as a mind-body, or mindful, workout, I have a great experience and feel calm, long, lean and strong afterward. Concentrating on holding my stomach in, ribs pressed together, arms reaching out, legs in first position, toes slightly apart, inner legs “zipped” and butt “tweezed,” I get a fantastic total-body workout. Holding this position while Mari describes the next move makes the workout intense throughout. I look forward to doing the entire workout or the express version as often as I can. Pilates is now a major part of my workout rotation, along with yoga, power walking outdoors when the weather is nice, and weights/resistance bands.

Being totally unfamiliar with Pilates, I found this DVD to be VERY USEFUL in introducing me to the exercises and techniques used in Pilates. It shows exercises done by adept Pilates users, as well as modified exercises for beginners. You can go as fast or as slow as you want with this DVD. If you are already familiar with the exercises, you can just do them while she is demonstrating them for the beginners watching the video. As a beginner, and even for an intermediate, this is a fantastic tool for starting a Winsor Pilates routine!! I highly recommend it for that reason.

i love mari winsor & have several of her dvd's. this one disappointed me because of the long pauses between exercises. there was lots of instruction during the pauses, and that's what made this dvd move very slowly & not be an effective pilates workout for me. many of the individual excercises in the longer program were hard, but there was no flow & that made the workout much less intense overall. i wasn't even sore after doing this, which is definitely not the case with the other winsor pilates dvd's i own. this would be great for beginner/intermediate.
