I have been doing Yoga for over 10 years and during that time have purchased many videos. Unfortunately, this is the only DVD that I reqret purchasing and I will not be using it again. The cuing is basically non-existant. Therefore you need to watch the TV continually to see what Mandy is doing, or when she changes to the next position. This is very hard on the neck and it negates any relaxation you expect to receive from Yoga. As far as the routines, I received minimal benefit and I found her continual chatting quite annoying. The narrative on the cover of the DVD is very disceiving since it actually says "The bonus audio feature allows you to practice to Mandy's verbal cues and direction". I would like to return this DVD but I purchased it at London Drugs and like most places, they don't accept returns on DVD's that have been opened.

Having used several Rodney Yee videos, this is a completely different style and I was a little surprised the yoga elements were more subtle. While Yee cues everything and guides you through breathing and meditation along with yoga exercise, here there's lots of talk about getting your 'a-s' in shape. I don't do yoga for my a-s, I do it to relieve anxiety and get healthier. (Yes, I had to edit myself for the GAIAM website while quoting the video.) Regardless, the combination of toning exercises with yoga is really effective, I feel like I get a great workout. And even if Ingber isn't very yoga-minded, her commentary is very lighthearted and easy to follow along with. Overall it's a great video that I think I'll use often, alternating with the more meditative styles.

Mandy seems like a very sweet person, but I literally got so frustrated with trying to follow her instructions that I stopped the DVD after about 15 minutes. She doesn't provide cues and instead of focusing on your poses, you're focused on the TV trying to figure out what she is doing. Not a relaxing practice at all. I have about 100 yoga DVDs, and sadly, this is one of the worst. Sorry, Mandy.

I wanted to like this DVD----tried it several times. I find the cues on this DVD to be virtually nonexistent. Mandy moves through the sun salutations and poses with no instruction. I do yoga all the time so I'm not talking about basics, I'm just talking about letting you know when to move. I'm hanging out in downward dog and she has moved on to the next round. Further, the flow of the entire DVD is more like a pilates class than yoga. Although the poses have the same names, I wouldn't call this yoga at all.

out of the 9 DVD's in my collection (all from Gaiam) this, for me, was the most boring. the cuing was pretty off. as she is explaining the movements she forgets that she is asking us to "8 reps at a time" and winds up doing more than 8 (12 at one point) and does 8 for the opposite side. she needs to count off every movement as some of the Asanas (poses) are faced down. you don't have the indicator. some people prefer they get the count down to move along w/ her. again when you are face down and cant hear her count down. the practicing yogi could be faster or slower than her set pace because you cant see from a face down position. breathing is such an important part for yoga practice. IT IS THE FOUNDATION OF THE PRACTICE. she never set a pace for the in or out breath on any movements IE: do you breath in or out when you go down in a squat or lung? i think a beginning yogi needs that info...ive been practicing yoga for some time now and am always looking for a new challenge but these reviews helped very little...maybe this is why they NEEDED Jennifer Aniston as an endorser. I should have known..Namaste
