Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Comforter I love this comforter. It does have a strong smell when you first open it, but it fades. I aired it for a few hours which really helped. It's soft, not too warm but keeps you warm enough and it's organic which is great. March 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love, Love, LOVE this comforter!!! I am allergic to down, so this was replacing my gross polyester-fill, lumpy, synthetic down comforter. I noticed no odor that others have referred to, and it is of extremely high quality. It regulates temperature fabulously, keeping us plenty warm during the winter, as well as cool during the warmer months. I have also come to love it more than down, because even though it is slightly thinner over all, the filling stays much more evenly distributed, making for a very cozy bed! Initially I winced at the price, but it was totally worth every penny. August 9, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by nice comforter my husband purchased this because it was considerably cheaper than other organic comforters. so far we've been happy with it. January 21, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Strong Smell I received this and an organic cotton pillow today and both smelled very strongly when I opened them. To me it smells like formaldehyde but I can't say for sure. Other than that, the comforter is a nice weight, similar to down. December 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy! Very good quality. Was worried because its almost as thin as a very thick quilt but it is heavy and keeps me perfect warm without sweating and never leaves me cold. Never heard of this fiber before but now I am a believer. Very happy with purchase. Took it to an organic dry cleaner and came back as good as new. Didn't really notice the strong odor others mentioned that had me worried. Happy Happy Joy Joy November 15, 2010

I have a "light weight" wool comforter and I'm looking for something better for the summer months. Would this kapok comforter be good for warm summer nights or is it likely to be too hot?

I used to own a silk comforter that I bought from you many years ago and my husband and I loved it so very much but after about 9 years (with a baby/kid and 2 cats) it was definitely past time to get rid of it. I finally got rid of it when we moved to a warmer climate but it still gets cold enough that we need something, I bought a down alternative elsewhere for the time being but we aren't thrilled with it. Anyhow, I am really looking for something comprable to the silk comforter you used to sell and wondered if this might be it as I see it keeps you warm but people say doesn't overheat you? The silk one was great cause until it got really cold it was just right on cold or hot nights, desperately looking for the same lightweight style comforter that won't overheat us on warmer nights but will keep us warm on colder nights. We live in Central Florida just off the ocean and river so we definitely get breezes and winds, etc. Thanks.

Answer:
This is going to be warmer than the old Silk and Wool comforter. The fill on this is similar to Down. However out of everything we currently sell this comforter is probably the coolest temperature wise.

Answer:
Mine has a duvet cover on it. I would think you'd always want to use one since the comforter is dry clean only.
