PrintSimply place the Geraniol Insect-Repelling Wristband around your wrist, belt loop, hat band, pet collar, tent, baby carriage, or anywhere else you would like protection, and it forms a protective layer of mildly fragrant vapors. Insects keep a safe distance from the wearer: these bands use the same principle as planting geraniums in your window box to keep pests away from your windows. Geraniol is a colorless or pale-yellow terpene alcohol, C10H18O, with a geranium-like odor, found in rose oil, soluble in alcohol and ether, insoluble in water. It’s mildly fragrant and 400% more effective in protecting against pests than citronella. Geraniol is mildly fragrant and 400% more effective in protecting against pests than citronella.

No installation necessary. Product is ready to use out of the box. Geraniol Insect-Repelling Wristbands are an effective alternative to chemical-based insect repellent spray. Geraniol is a naturally occurring essential oil found in plants such as geraniums, bergamot, carrot, lemon, lavender, blueberry and rose. Primarily used in perfumery, geraniol has also been proven to repel pests including mosquitoes, houseflies, cockroaches, fire ants, fleas, gnats, ticks and no-see-ums. Geraniol was discovered, tested and patented by the University of Florida.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Maybe I imagined it... I'm pregnant so I can't use any regular mosquito repellant and after I read the instructions and warnings on those Off! clip ons, those were out too. These things are awesome. I wear two at a time, I put one on my wrist and one on the opposite ankle, for not having any chemicals in them they work great. Mosquitos would come close but I'd wave my hand and they'd take off. The trick seems to be to move around enough to keep the fragrance circulating around you. I almost didn't buy them because of how much they are, but I'm really glad I did. I thought for sure I'd regret it. It's nice to finally find an effective mosquito repellant that isn't like putting poison directly on you. October 22, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works better than any other product for mosquitos! My 2 year old is extremely sensitive to mosquitos - they will bite him day & night, even if he is outside for 2 minutes only! We don't want to use harmful or questionable chemical products, and have tried an assortment of natural products and oils - even some made for Africa from a friend who visits there! There is NOTHING available that we have found better than this product - and so easy - we can put it on his ankle, or even on a backpack he is in or on his back belt loop, etc. Our whole family now wears one when going outside!!! It is nice to know it is geranium oil derived, and is even waterproof for children running under sprinklers, swimming, etc! July 26, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Keep the bugs off! I have serious reactions to insect bites, and am unable to use most commercial insect repellants, so I decideed to give these a try at Fourth of July fireworks. I used one on my wrist, one on my ankle. Other folks were swatting and scratching. I suffered not a single bite. I recommend them highly. July 19, 2010
Rated 1 out of 5 by let down I wanted these to work so badly! I hate smearing even natural bug repellent products on my body. Alas, these didn't work at all for me - have bites all over! :( June 4, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy solution My 3 year old wears one on his wrist or on his ankle. It works well and is easy to use. I store it in a glass babyfood jar when he is not wearing it. I use it, as well. Great product! January 15, 2010

Answer:
They are water resistant as far as wearing them while you're washing your hands. I would avoid submerging them (swimming) for extended periods of time. If you going to be swimming I would take them off but if they aren't being submerged they are fine.

Answer:
We do not have statistics of this. It could be various factors not necessarily region related. It may have been what they were wearing (perhaps the bracelet was covered by clothing), They could have been stored in a junk drawer (with out them being in a bag) and they could have dried out. They could have been left out in the sun. If you live in an area that has intense mosquito swarms these probably aren't going to save you from all the bites.
