Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Mat Great mat! I'm a 300lb brute that sweats like a pig, and this mat keeps my feet/hands well grounded. Feels great, even on the hardwood floor. The 5mm is plenty of padding. September 8, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by First Mat This was my first mat purchase. I used it for hot yoga and obviously I was expecting to slip, since this mat was not specifically designed for hot yoga. I didn't slip much but then again I do not sweat much. If i did it would've been extremely difficult to use this mat without a towel on top. Overall this mat is alright for regular yoga. Rated 1 out of 5 by slippery I tried both sides to this mat and I slid, both hands and feet, disappointed January 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I like this mat I had a regular yoga mat from Gaiam for over 10 years.  I bought this one for some extra thickness.  I have enjoyed it!  I don't slip on it too much, but I don't use it for hot yoga either so I'm not dripping on it.  I like the extra thickness for my knees, and the color is soothing. Rated 2 out of 5 by Slippery and thick I am so disappointed this mat didn't work out. I love the thickness and it feels great compared to the mats I use at the gym.   However, this mat is not sticky at all so will have to return.   June 29, 2013

I recently purchased one of your mats and I ended up breaking out in a rash all over my arms and legs. I do have a latex allergy and need to know if this is the reason for the rash. Thank you.

I just purchased this mat. Do I need to air it out before use? And If so, how long should I air it?

Thanks.

Answer:
You don't HAVE to, but Gaiam recommends airing it out for 2-3 days due to the odor that is present. I did notice an odor the first time I unrolled mine, but it didn't seem to last long.

Answer:
We recommend airing your new mat for a few hours and preferably outside. A lot of people tend to just air them out overnight.

5 mm is equal to .2 inches so it's not quite a 1/4 inch thick.

Whichever side you want up is up, whichever side you want down is down. Yoga mats are reversible.
