Rated 5 out of 5 by Just what I needed! Purchased this for Bikram...and it's perfect! Especially handy for Rabbit Pose. Shrunk the tiniest bit in the wash, but that's okay! May 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A must for Bikram Yoga This towel is a must for Bikram lovers! Before I purchased this, I was slipping and sliding on my mat with a regular towel (which would also bunch up on the mat and distract me from my practice). This towels doesn't move no matter how wet it gets. LOVE IT!!!! February 13, 2013

Use w/o mat?

Can I use this without a map for travelling? Does it fold up small for fitting in a suitcase?

What is the difference between the mat towel and the thirsty towel?  Is one less slippery?  They say they both can be used on top of other mats.  Can they both be machine washed?

Answer:
I have both. The mat towel is thinner, helps to eliminate slip, and soaks up sweat. The thirty towel is much thicker. It eliminates slip and soaks up sweat to a higher degree. I had been practicing hot yoga with the mat towel, but switched to the thirsty towel when I started Bikram. I would suggest the thirty towel over the mat towel. It is much more absorbent, and clings to the mat better. I have had issues lately with the mat towel coming off of my mat during practice. I don't know if the stickiness of the underside has depleted due to the fact that I have washed it after every use. So far so good with the thirsty towel, as far as washing goes. It shrunk the tiniest bit. Not enough to care, though. Hope you find this helpful!

Answer:
The can both be used on mats and be machine washed. The difference is that the thirsty and grippy mat is the thirsty towel can also double as a gym or regular towel for non yoga workouts. It would be hard to that with the the grippy one because of the rubber backing.
