Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Mat, would buy again I've been using this mat about a year & a half, first for beginning and intermediate ashtanga yoga, and now bikram (I use it with a beach towel or thirsty towel over it). It was fine for my regular yoga classes at first, but a little bit slippery in downward dog (the studio is kept warm and my hands tend to sweat), even after using yoga mat wash on it. I use it as a bikram mat only because it gets too wet, and doesn't thoroughly dry out due to the humid summer weather. It's now stained and dirty even though I tried to keep up with cleaning it. (I practice 4-5 days/wk.) I love the color, pattern, and the thickness is fine, I just think I need something that will dry more quickly for bikram. For the price I think the quality is good and I would buy it again, because it's so pretty and you have to get new mats every so often anyway. August 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great mat! This was the first yoga mat I purchased and I loved it, it has good traction and comfort and lasted me quite some time! I would definitely recommend this mat. October 11, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love! I bought this mat as a beginning yoga student, and love it! It has worked for regular yoga classes and also for hot yoga (with a bath towel on top of it, on a carpeted floor). I am happy with the pattern and color, and would suggest it to any beginning yoga student. If you are looking for more intense yoga practices, I may suggest something else as this one crinkles up sometimes when going from pose to pose. July 31, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Gret for beginners My daughter and I just started doing yoga and I was a bit skeptical about sticking with it, and I didnt want to spend too much money on the both of us. But we didnt want to use the studio's stinky mats so we bought this one. Very affordable. Its great, just the right stickiness, and thickness. And it comes in different designs! July 23, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Pretty but Thin Love the look of this mat. I bought it (at Borders) so i wouldn't have to use the studio's loaners. it is thin and bunches very easily as well as not being sticky enough for even a 'down-dog'. i am a bigger size than many in my class, so maybe that is why this didn't work for me. Answer:
Yoga mats tend to be a bit slippery when they are new. It will take a few weeks to break the mat in. We recommend that you wash the mat with a mixture of water and witch hazel. Mix equal parts of water and witch hazel (15% alcohol or less) in a spray bottle, spray your mat and wipe down. This will help to reduce the slipperiness.

Answer:
It is made of PVC the same material that the premium sticky mat is made of. Please see one of the following mats for a non PVC option, 05-54237, 95-1396, 05-52511, 05-52509.

Answer:
We have never had this complaint about this or any of our mats leaving stains after a hot yoga class. It could have been something in the way that particular one was finished. It could have been a reaction between the floor cleaner and the mat. If you can send the mat to:

we can further investigate why this may have happened.
