Rated 5 out of 5 by Yoga Matt This is a wonderful product, easy to use and a delight to roll up and store when done. Best of all, it doesn't pick up any cat hair or stray carpet fibers!! I've tried cloth ones, they got so dirty/with 3 cats in house, not hard; so fast, was disgusting. This one solves that problem and stays fresh for me every day. Easy wipe off to clean! I'm going to get all the colors!! January 12, 2010
Rated 4 out of 5 by I love this mat I had to buy another one because I refuse to share. I love this mat for the cushioning I do however think it needs to be bigger other than that a great mat for the price but don't think your going to roll it up and pop it into a yoga bag this thing is still too think to do anything compact with. Rated 1 out of 5 by Too small I was very disappointed with this mat, as it is too small (too narrow and too short) even for my 10-year-old son. Is that the reason Gaiam lists only the thickness under the "Product dimensions" tab? Too bad, as otherwise this mat is nicely cushy and would be suitable for hard floor workouts (which is what I was looking for). I decided against returning the mat (return shipping would more-or-less be equal to the refund), but most certainly would not purchase it again. January 7, 2010

I was wondering if I can use an exercise mat for yoga?
As I bought one a few years ago, it is 1/2 inch thick and quality mat.
Why is a yoga mat so thin? Will I still get the same benefits with the thicker mat, or do I also need to buy the thin mat just for Yoga?
Thank you

Answer:
It really is up to your own personal preferences. Sometimes thicker mats make it a little easier to slid when in positions like downward dog, making it a little harder to hold the postion. This mat can be used for yoga if you prefer a thicker mat.
