One on one with Champion and Master David-Dorian Ross. This is the way to learn T'ai Chi. With this program created to be more like personal instruction, you'll learn more intuitively as you explore each move, so you feel more confident right away. You will understand how T'ai chi will help you move closer to that elusive life priority, balance. Known as "the ultimate workout" in China, T'ai chi is a more physically charged form of energy practice that resembles martial arts in slow motion and will give you the benefits of weight training, aerobics or sports conditioning while exercising your mental-spiritual strength at the same time. You'll see more balance in the way you move, think and feel every day. U.S. and world T'ai chi medalist David-Dorian Ross' clear, masterful instruction is captured live in this unique DVD.

The result is more candid, thoughtful expression that's in tune with you as you move, with pointers that both sharpen your form and deepen the benefits. David guides eight essential T'ai chi ch'uan poses, from Parting the Horse's Mane and to the empowering Crane Spreads Wings. A total-body workout that is more physically charged than its sister practice Qigong, this is like a martial arts dance, with breathing and mental imagery techniques that intensify the effects. 70 minutes.

"T'ai Chi completely surprised me. As an endurance athlete I am used to fighting for energy — and sometimes simply oxygen. T'ai Chi is a beautiful counterbalance to my overachieving personality. I love tapping into an unending source of energy!" - Sada McCormick, Portland, Oregon

Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointment I bought this highly rated DVD for my husband as a gift. He always wanted to try T'ai Chi and, as he is physically fit, I believed that this one for beginners will be a good one. It came as a real disappointment, that although the explanation seems to be detailed and clear, it is very difficult to follow the instructor in your own moves. Probably if you had T'ai Chi in the class and already have a feel for it, it would be much easier, but for a true beginner it is almost impossible to master these moves and flow of moves with just help of this DVD. Rated 5 out of 5 by Back Pain Eliminated I have been struggling with back pain for a few years. I took the leap to chiropractic care but this only provided temporary relief. With nothing to lose, I purchased the DVD and followed the AM routine and after a couple of weeks my back pain ceased. To test if this was a coincidence I stopped the routine and the back pain returned. I now perform the AM routine at least four times a week to maintain a pain free back. January 21, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect introductory video for those new to t'ai c I am a t'ai chi instructor and have been practicing and teaching for over 20 years. I teach/practice the style of t'ai chi that David does in this video. This video is top notch. I've seen and worked with many in my time and David's has it all. Easy to follow, packed with important and vital information about t'ai chi itself and the movements. I can't recommend it more highly for someone investigating t'ai chi before they find a master to work with or for someone like me to hone and refine their practice or someone who lives in an area where experienced and high level teachers are not available. Rated 3 out of 5 by Not really for the basics I have been taking a beginning Tai Chi class for several months and thought this DVD would help me practice but I found it did not include the basics and wound up being more confusing to me than helpful. November 13, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by This video was great. David took ever step slowly so that it can be executed correctly. May 3, 2009
