by Chels088 Neat customizable chair
It took me about 15 minutes to put this thing together. The majority of the time was spent pumping up the ball and looking for a rubber mallet. The mallet was useful in getting the back bar all the way down before securing it with the hardware provided since it was a tight fit.
I'm 5' exactly, and I easily adjusted the wheels so that my feet actually touched the ground. Unlike the previous reviewer, I don't find it troublesome that my back doesn't rest against the support bar during normal sitting; perhaps that's only because I didn't expect it to in the first place.
The desktop guide is very useful for figuring out precisely how/where to sit on the ball. This is my first experience with any of these balance balls, and I was grateful that the info was right near the front. It also states that the support bar (backrest) is for stability during exercises ONLY.
There are some great stretches in the guide as well. I haven't used the workout DVD yet, but I'm very pleased overall with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ranita Great for improving posture
I am in my 20s and generally quite fit and healthy, but about a year ago I noticed that my back started to hurt after sitting in front of the computer for long stretches of time. I decided to buy this chair to see if my posture would improve, and it did! My back never hurts anymore, and I find it very easy to stay balanced on the chair.

Upgraded from the Classic to the Custom Fit Balance Ball Chair recently. The 5th wheel and metal legs are a great improvement. The plastic legs on my Classic broke over time.

Already notice an improvement in my posture and it has helped me gain flexibility in a knee that underwent a total knee replacement four months ago.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AnnaM Not for very low back problems
I so looked forward to getting this chair because of sacral pain/injury I have that I thought would benefit from it. Unfortunately, after using it 2 - 3 weeks, I realized that it was actually making it worse. Went back to the standard, not-so-comfy chair and pain went back down to previous level. I thought about deflating the ball a little but at the moment, it fits into the base perfectly (looks exactly like the picture) so was thinking it might drop down into the base too much. But I will try that when I get a chance and see if it helps.
If you do not have very low (sacrum, tailbone area) back problems, this may not be a problem for you but the contact between this part of my anatomy and the chair felt too firm, like there was not enough give. Anyway, seems like it could be a nice chair if you're not dealing w/ a very low back injury.
