Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 36 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the office! I purchased this chair for my office seeing as how I was starting to get a stiff back and overall feeling lethargic from sitting in my normal office chair for 8+ hours a day. Once you get used to the feeling of it, this chair is wonderful! Almost immediately I have seen an improvement in my posture! The only concern I have is that if you sit on it for a prolonged period of time, your butt and back of your legs may begin to hurt. When that starts to happen I stand up and walk around for a few minutes and normally I'm fine afterwards! I definitely would recommend this for those who are sitting at a desk for hours at a time, it's a life saver.  April 23, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good chair, but assembly could be tricky Very good chair once you assemble it. But it was tricky to attach the backrest - just because it doesn't fit!  I guess it's my luck to get the defected item, but my husband had use a hammer to make the backrest go into dedicated slots.  Good thing you only do it once... Other than that I don't have any problem with the chair. You really have to follow the instructions to inflate, and then re-inflate to the final size on the next day.   April 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by this product is easy and will fit anyone just as i hoped it would be. Easy to put together. Great for my back.  Now each of my staff wants one!! March 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love that the base is adjustable for heights. This is the best chair I have ever encountered. It not only improved my posture, but I am consistently working on strengthening my core area. Its in the main office and I do get comments and looks at this chair and I let our clients even try it out. And I have also referred them to your company. Thank you for making everyday at the office enjoyable and comfortable. No sore back or stiffness that would come from a regular office chair. THANK YOU!!! March 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love this chair with ball!  it took about 2 days for my body to get used to it and now I do not like sitting on a regular chair.  at times I do crunches and side twists.  I have recommended it to everyone my office. March 12, 2015

Although we do not have an online manual available, it does include a desktop guide and DVD. The chair includes a pump and the ball needs to be inflated to 55cm. If you have any other questions we are happy to help at customerservice@gaiam.com!

I've never used a ball chair before but am excited to start!  I have lower back pain from split abs due to childbirth.  I do pilates to reconstruct my core and back and would like to keep that health going while I sit at my desk.  Please let me know if you can suggest which of your ball chair better serves lower back and core strength.  Thank you!

Great question! As far as functionality and feel of the chair, the Custom fit and the Classic will perform the same. Both are suited for heights 5'-5'11', will engage the core, and help prevent back pain. The only difference is the Custom Fit Balance Ball Chair has adjustable legs so you can change the height of your chair! Measurements are listed below for the height of the chair.

At the lowest setting:
Floor to base = 8"
Floor to top of ball = 23"

At the highest setting:
Floor to base = 11"
Floor to top of ball = 27"

I have a custom fit balance ball chair but it is too low to use at my office desk.  Is there a kit that extends the legs?

The Kids classic ball chair states it is for kids 42" - 51"
The adult chairs are for 5' to 5'11"
What do you have for students who fall in that 9" gap?
I have a grant to purchase 4 chairs.  Please help. :-)

Great question! At this time, we do not have a chair suitable for those in-between heights. You may want to take a look at the Balance Disc. This can be used on any existing chair and provides many of the same great benefits of the balance ball chair! We apologize for any inconvenience. If you need further assistance, you can also reach us at 800-482-3747 and we are happy to help.
