Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Neat customizable chair It took me about 15 minutes to put this thing together. The majority of the time was spent pumping up the ball and looking for a rubber mallet. The mallet was useful in getting the back bar all the way down before securing it with the hardware provided since it was a tight fit. I'm 5' exactly, and I easily adjusted the wheels so that my feet actually touched the ground. Unlike the previous reviewer, I don't find it troublesome that my back doesn't rest against the support bar during normal sitting; perhaps that's only because I didn't expect it to in the first place. The desktop guide is very useful for figuring out precisely how/where to sit on the ball. This is my first experience with any of these balance balls, and I was grateful that the info was right near the front. It also states that the support bar (backrest) is for stability during exercises ONLY. There are some great stretches in the guide as well. I haven't used the workout DVD yet, but I'm very pleased overall with my purchase! April 17, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by Not for very low back problems I so looked forward to getting this chair because of sacral pain/injury I have that I thought would benefit from it. Unfortunately, after using it 2 - 3 weeks, I realized that it was actually making it worse. Went back to the standard, not-so-comfy chair and pain went back down to previous level. I thought about deflating the ball a little but at the moment, it fits into the base perfectly (looks exactly like the picture) so was thinking it might drop down into the base too much. But I will try that when I get a chance and see if it helps. If you do not have very low (sacrum, tailbone area) back problems, this may not be a problem for you but the contact between this part of my anatomy and the chair felt too firm, like there was not enough give. Anyway, seems like it could be a nice chair if you're not dealing w/ a very low back injury. May 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally found a chair that I can sit in all day I bought this because I have trouble with my piriformis muscles compressing on the sciatic nerve and regular chairs only aggravate it. This was the only type of chair where I can sit all day pain free so I bought one for work. My sister saw it and immediately bought one for home. I now am considering buying a second one for home too. A friend had the other style that's available here with the molded back but I thought that one wasn't as comfortable as this one. The back height supports me in the perfect location on my back (I'm 5'2"). The only downside to this chair is that after about 18 months of continued use you will need to pump the ball again because it will start to lose air; not a lot, just enough to pump up and tighten. Rated 1 out of 5 by puzzling item This is called a "custom fit" balance ball "chair".  It does have a balance ball, but there is no custom fitting involved, or fitting of any kind.  Nor is it a chair.  It could be called "balance ball stool."   That back-rest seeming part (indeed, it was called a backrest by the staff person who spoke to me) is not intended to touch or support your back.  Maybe it's like a handle, to easily move the stool around?   If you want to sit on a balance ball, and have it in a stand rather than rolling around out of reach when you turn you back, this would do it.  I was expecting a seat that could be adjusted to suit me, and had some back support,  so I returned it. Great question! For the most accurate sizing, measure the height of your current chair while your legs are at a 90 degree angle. Then compare the measurements to the specifications below. I hope this helps!

Custom Fit Chair
At the lowest setting:
Floor to base = 8"
Floor to top of ball = 23"

At the highest setting:
Floor to base = 11"
Floor to top of ball = 27"

Classic Chair
*Only 1 setting
Floor to base = 27"
Floor to top of ball = 9"

Which balance ball chair should I order for my specific height? I am 5 feet tall and 135 pounds.  The ball appears to come in a 52 or 55 cm size....just curious which custom fit is better for me? Also, I do not want a cover or a charcoal colored ball. Can I order a green or blue ball, specific to whichever chair you recommend for my height?
Thank you!

Answer:
Both the custom fit chair and classic balance ball chair would work well for you! The benefit of the custom fit chair is that the legs can be adjusted. This helps with your specific desk positioning. Our 52cm balance ball for the classic chair, is only available in charcoal. The custom fit chair comes with a blue 55cm balance ball! For your specific color preference, I would recommend purchasing the custom fit balance ball chair.

Would this chair or the other (which one?) be suitable for 6ft tall woman or should I buy a larger ball? And with that said, would a larger ball fit in either chair?
Thank you for your reply!
