Placing an Order

Placing an order with Gaiam is easy. Either make your purchase on or simply call 1-877-989-6321 to place an order with a member of our customer care team.

International Ordering

At this time, delivery to international addresses is not currently available on At this time, we are only able to ship to the United States and its territories via We can fulfill Canadian orders through our toll-free customer service line. Please call us toll-free at 1-800-482-3747 to place an order shipping to Canada.

Finding Items

Either enter the product number or keywords for the item that you are interested in purchasing into the search box or simply browse through our categories and use refinements on the left hand side to narrow the results down to products that fit your needs. Click on the image of the item you would like to learn more about to get to the product detail page. Here you will find additional imagery, product description, available colors and sizes, customer ratings and reviews.

Adding Items to Your Shopping Cart

When you are ready to make your purchase simply select size and color (if applicable) and click the “add to cart” button. If you would like to continue shopping, just select any of the category tabs at the top of the site or on the Gaiam logo to get back to the home page.

Checking Out

You can access your shopping cart simply by clicking on the cart link at the top right of the site. Review the items in your cart to make sure they are correct and make any changes necessary. You can update quantities and remove items from your shopping cart here. When you are satisfied with your selection, click the “checkout” button.

Secure Online Shopping

Our website is secure and encrypted to protect any information you enter while ordering. We use the latest security measures to ensure your information is protected.

Enter a Shipping Address

Provide the address to where you would like us to ship your order. If you have multiple addresses that you will be shipping your order to, please select “ship to multiple addresses” at the top of the shipping step during the checkout process. If the billing address differs from your shipping address, please uncheck the box that states “use this address for billing” below the address fields.

Choose Your Shipping Method

Select the appropriate shipping method for how quickly you would like to receive your order.

Provide Payment Method

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You may also use a Gaiam Gift Certificate as a method of payment. Enter your gift certificate code in the Billing step of checkout. If you are using a debit card, your bank may deduct or set aside the necessary funds to cover the order for a period of up to 5 business days. Gaiam does not collect payment until the order has been shipped from our fulfillment center.

Review and Submit Your Order

Check the accuracy of the information entered and make any adjustments. When you are ready, click the “PLACE ORDER” button. Once your order is placed we will send you a confirmation email notifying you when your order has shipped from our warehouse.

Sales Tax

We charge sales tax for orders shipping to California, Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee or Texas. This will automatically be added to your order.

Redeeming a Coupon/Promotional Code

Any promotional offer code should be entered in the shopping cart.

Order Status

You can check your order status any time by clicking the My Account link at the top of the site. You do not need to be registered to check on the status of your order.

Order Ship Time

In-stock items typically ship within 24 hours of order placement. If an item ships directly from the manufacturer, its extended lead time will be stated in the product description.

Order Delivery Time

Most orders ship via USPS Standard Delivery unless an alternate method is chosen. The typical delivery time via this method is 5-10 business days. This includes shipments to Alaska, Hawaii and the U.S. Territories.

APO/FPO Shipments

We do ship to APO/FPO addresses. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. Please note that a customer care member will be contacting you within 24-48 hours after the placement of your order to handle any additional shipping charges and discuss any additional shipping details with you.


In keeping with our mission to clean up the planet, we reuse boxes and packing materials that come into our warehouse and use only use new boxes or envelopes made of recycled materials. We also use recycled paper or 100% natural, corn-based biodegradable “peanuts” to help protect your order during shipping.

Oversized Shipping Charges

Because some large items are bulky and heavy, our cost to ship them is higher than for other items. A surcharge is added to these items and will be noted on the product page as well during the checkout process. This charge is in addition to regular delivery fees.

International Shipments

Shipments Outside of the U.S.

At this time we only ship to the United States, its territories and to Canada. For product selection and availability outside of the U.S. and Canada please contact the nearest Gaiam International Partner.

Duty/Taxes on Canadian Orders

Duties and taxes are assessed by Canadian customs. We cannot tell you in advance what these fees might be nor do we assume any responsibility for these fees. You will be responsible for these fees and notified of the amount due at the time of delivery. Please note that a customer care member will be contacting you within 24-48 hours after the placement of your order to handle any additional shipping charges and discuss any additional shipping details with you.



Gaiam wants you to be 100% happy with your purchase experience. We hope you love everything you receive from us, but if you’re less than 100% satisfied, you may return or exchange any item at any time for any reason.

We are phasing out our Home Goods category and offering deep discounts to our valued customers. Please note that all Home Goods items can only be returned for a period of up to 30 days after delivery. Home Goods items include all bedding, bath, furniture & décor, household supplies, outdoor living, laundry & storage, water & shower filters, air quality, heating & cooling.

  1. Use our prepaid SmartPost label.
    1. Please fill out the merchandise return form on the back of the packing slip. If returning a gift, please make sure to check the box stating this.
    2. Record your reason for return.
    3. Attach the label printed on the front of this form and drop your package in the mailbox, give it to your postal carrier or take it to the post office.
    4. The shipping charges back to us will be deducted from your merchandise refund or billed to your credit card if you are exchanging items. If we sent the wrong item or it was defective, return shipping is on us!

    Please note: Not all orders will be eligible for return by SmartLabel. This generally applies to heavy or bulky items, or items that may ship directly from the manufacturer. If your order is not eligible there will be no SmartLabel provided on the order receipt. In this instance please ship using a carrier of your choice.

Please allow 14 days for us to receive and process your return. We’ll credit or refund the value of the returned items and any taxes you were charged (excluding original shipping charges), less the cost of the SmartLabel return charge, if you choose this option. Credit card adjustments should appear within two billing cycles.


Gift Certificates

Purchasing a Gift Certificate

You can purchase a gift certificate online by searching “gift certificate” in the keyword box on the website or by clicking here. You can also purchase a gift certificate by calling our customer service team at 1-877-989-6321. A gift certificate can be mailed or emailed to you or your intended recipient. If you would like to have your gift certificate emailed, please note your email delivering preference in the delivery instructions field during step 2 of the checkout process. Please allow 1-2 days for gift certificates to be emailed.

Redeeming a Gift Certificate

If you are making your purchase online, you may redeem your gift certificate by entering the gift certificate number during Step 3 of the checkout process. If there is a remaining balance for any gift certificate, the unused portion of your gift certificate will be issued to you in the form of a check by mail.
