Qigong is an ancient Chinese tradition of exercises designed to improve health and wellbeing through movement of breath, body and Qi (pronounced "chi"). Qi means "breath" in Chinese, and also refers to the life-giving energy produced by breathing. Gong means "work" applied to a discipline. Thus, the word Qigong roughly translates to "breath work". The word is also sometimes spelled Qi Gong, Chi Gong, Chi Kung or Chigong.
