POSITION TITLE: Web Designer
- POSITION SUMMARY:
Full-time Web Designer who is proficient in hand coding X/HTML and CSS and actionscripting.
You will work on promotions on the Gaiam.com web sites, weekly emails to subscribers, e-newsletters and display advertising.
The role is to develop and deliver effective promotions consistent with our brand. The ideal candidate will have come from the merchandising industry with over 6 years experience working on a product driven .com website. Preferable with a major brand and have a strong graphic design background, actionscripting proficiency, an attention to detail, and the ability execute big ideas and programs that inspire consumers to click on promotional messages and move forward in the purchase process.
This position is full-time working from our Gaiam offices in Louisville, CO.
- PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create effective, engaging designs that support business objectives, adhere to established brand guidelines and meet requirements, with minimal direction.
- Collaborate with the marketing and merchandising teams on how to continually improve the effectiveness of promotions; continually develop and test new approaches.
- Establish and design consistency across Gaiam promotional vehicles, according to established brand guidelines.
- Lead design projects and other creative initiatives proactively (e.g., redesign of email templates, style guide), meet deliverables and deadlines, and help to drive projects to completion.
- REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of professional design experience, 6 year's interactive experience.
- MAC based.
- Strong portfolio showcasing work for established brand(s), preferably in e-commerce, merchandising, and/or retail industries.
- Solid understanding and respect for usability.
- Extreme proficiency with Flash motion development and actionscripting.
- Proficient in Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other relevant design tools.
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task.
- Open to being challenged by Creative Director, Internal clients, and other team members.
- Excellent communication skills and a team player.
- Bachelor’s degree in design
