Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Bulb is 2-pin 1.000 hour dud I purchased the lamp, which I like just fine, it's sturdy(ish) and good quality, but was extremely disappointed bulb lasted only 1,000 hours (and I'm being generous) NOT 10,000 hours like they say. Also extremely disappointed to remove it and find that it's a TWO PIN base, NOT regular screw in, and NO ONE local sells them. The replacements are $15! I would not buy this lamp again. Rated 4 out of 5 by Light a little cold The design of this lamp is wonderful. The handle makes it very easy to have a high floor lamp / lower reading lamp. The only thing I would change is the effect of the light bulb. It has a fluorescent quality that's a little intense. Hope I can use other kinds of bulbs or adapt it to reflect on warmer walls. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great lamp at a great price! Light stays where you put it - No drooping like other adjustable position lights. February 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good for Bifocal -type Readers I need more light to read since turning 50. I've been on the search for a bright light that looks good. The vendor, Verilux, has cheaper, plastic lamps to deliver full-spectrum lighting, but this is best for a Living or Dining Room. Our home is Arts and Crafts 1920s style and I think the new lamp in bronze works well. I agree with one reviewer that it is not for a dimly lit, cozy night by the fire--unless, like me, you need to see to enjoy. Still, the light is easily focused, which means you don't have to bathe the room in studio lights. Oh, lightbulb was crushed within vendor box on arrival and was promptly replaced by Gaiam. Rated 4 out of 5 by feels sturdy compared to other similar lamp this one feels sturdy and well engineered. works well to put daylight in darker rooms. January 14, 2010

Thank you for your question. This lamp has a specialized socket, so it will not hold a standard light bulb.

Answer:
On the floor lamp it's just behind the face of the glare-shield, where the lightbulb is-it's a nob that sticks down between the cup (where the light bulb goes) and the first joint. Very easily accessible.
