Rated 5 out of 5 by Great desk lamp This lamp is great for an office with flourescent lights. Or one with limited natural lighting. March 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect in every way It is a sturdy lamp that turns on easily with a turn knob at the top of the base. The light is ample for work and uses healthy light that does not cause any glare and instead uses full spectrum lighting. It is a very nice looking lamp and well worth the inexpensive price. Rated 5 out of 5 by I bought both! I purchased both the desk and the floor lamps and am very satisfied with both. The purply bronze color is warmer than black or brown and still neutral enough for any decor. The quality of the light for reading or doing jigsaw puzzles is excellent and the heft of the lamps makes adjusting them easy - no teetering. Great deal, great products! February 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful gift. I gave this lamp as a gift and it works wonderfully. January 17, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful lamp This lamp is extremely classy and enhances my decor while providing excellent light for reading and working. The adjustable position is very useful. November 30, 2009

Answer:
No the bulbs for these lamps feature a twist in lock base so they do not have the traditional threaded looking bases. Instead they have two prongs that you insert into the socket and then it locks into place with a half turn.

Answer:
No adding a dimmer switch would cause the bulb to burn out much quicker than it's expected life capacity.

Re: Brookfield lamps

In your catalog, the switches are clearly visible (on base of desk lamp and on shade of floor lamp). On your website, the switches are not visible at all. I prefer switches where you can get to them easily and it seems odd to have them on the cord, especially on a floor model. Where are the switches actually? Hopefully, they are as shown in catalog. Thanks.
