Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Hot Yoga, Hot Pilates Mat I teach hot yoga so have a lot of experience with the towel mats which slide around and are cumbersome. This mat is so far one of my favorites and keeps a firm shape. It holds up even in Bikram yoga class absorbing the sweat and preventing you from sliding around. I've washed and dryed it on regular settings more than 20 times and it continues to hold up just as nice as first use. Unlike a breathe mat that bunches, especially after several wash/dry, this mat has kept its shape. I'm very pleased with my purchase. October 15, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by This mat does a good job... I bought this mat thinking it would be nice to not have to have a separate mat and mat towel for hot yoga, since slippage seems to be an issue.  This mat does indeed have a microfiber top surface that absorbs well--and it has a thin mat underside.  Maybe it's just my joints, but the "under mat" was not thick enough to make me feel really well cushioned, and I ended up using it as a topper (but it DID hold firm--so that was good). Rated 3 out of 5 by Great for Hot Yoga, but for how long? The mat is incredibly light weight so I take it everywhere!  The towel side is less grippy when dry, but during hot yoga it soon gets damp and gains a lot of traction.  It is easy to wash but i do not recommend washing to frequently. After the first wash, the towel and backing started to stretch in different ways, making it bunch up slightly. Better to use Fabreze or equivalent and let is dry naturally. June 5, 2014

I sweat quite a bit in hatha and vinyasa yoga class, and I'm wondering if this mat can be used in those (grip side down, of course). Thank you.

Answer:
This Ultra-Dri yoga mat would be great for you! The grip on this mat (towel side up) will increase when it gets damp. The more sweat the better.

Is it porous at all? Will my profuse sweat soak through the yoga mat onto my studio's carpet? Can I machine dry it? Thanks, Michael

Answer:
Although this is not a closed cell construction, the combination of towel surface, and mat backing will prevent sweat from soaking though to the floor during your yoga practice.

You can machine wash your mat on cold and lay flat to dry.
