Rated 1 out of 5 by Defective pump I have been enjoying using my balance ball and doing the  total body Balanceball workout DVD that came with it, but I needed to re-inflate my ball. It has been an incredibly frustrating experience! The pump comes apart and I've deflated the ball more than inflated it. If I get it 'just right' it works for a bit, and then' misfires'.  I can't imagine how I even got the ball inflated the first time (which was a while ago) as it is certainly not re-inflating now. Rated 1 out of 5 by pump does not work Hi, I love the chair and all your other products, but the pump that came with the chair is absolutely defective. It lets air out the back end weather you're pumping or not. it is a ball de-flator actually. If you pump really hard and fast, you can get osme air in there, but it's letting air out the back all the while so it's really a pain. January 5, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Piece of Junk I have the original pump from when I first bought my balance ball, but this doesn't even compare. For some reason, it leaks air every time you go to pump more air into the ball. Quite a workout to get the ball inflated! January 3, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Misleading sales pitch This pump works fine and I think it's easy to pump up the balance ball chair with it. However, I wouldn't have spent the additional $8 to purchase another pump if the sales page for the chair system hadn't strongly implied that I should purchase a pump. It is listed as an optional accessory on that page but it is NOT clearly stated that this is a "replacement" pump and I didn't realize that the chair system already came with a pump. I know (now) that it's in the list of what's included with the chair, but somehow I didn't see that and I was distracted by the misleading way it's worded on the chair system page when you have to select what you want to order. The optional balls in additional colors are listed as "extras" and the replacement plugs are listed as such. The pump doesn't indicate anything like that. Luckily it's only $8. December 27, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by So convenient This little pump allows to pump up the balance ball fast- no fuss. It's easy and quick. I recommend it without reservations. September 5, 2011

I have the ball chair that someone gave me which I thought was so odd and cute. They didn't give me a pump so is it mandatory that I get a pump and how often does it need to be pumped up? Also the pin in the ball, must I have more or is that one enough and does it seep air once taken out to be pumped? I have the chair with the wire around the bottom.

Answer:
It kind of depends on the individual ball. I only have to add air to mine every couple of months (if that) but some people have to add it more frequently. It is probably a good idea to pick up a pump (or if you have a bike pump customer service can send you a inflation tip that will work with that, or an air compressor) because at some point you will have to add air. The one plug should suffice, we sell extras because people loose them occasionally.
