Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Wanted it to be better than it is... I truly wanted this product to be successful, but unfortunately, I must agree with the reviewer from Nashville. It does align your back, but even after many months of use, I still find it's difficult to position properly to achieve the desired effect. The hard plastic come in quite narrow around one's buttocks, and the seat is not as padded as one would wish. Also, I find the padding has, over time, flattened out, so that my sit-bones become quite sore and uncomfortable after sitting at my computer for any length of time. I just purchased the Ergonomic Seat Cushion (Item #08-0478), and I'm hoping for better results. So far, it seems better, but I'll review it after I've really tested it out. March 19, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Backjoy Core Plus The Backjoy has helped me sit more comfortably at my desk. Although I have complex issues with my back, I have found a difference of not feeling so much strain on my back at the end of the day. January 13, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great at first I noticed immediately when I started to use this at work. It does align your back. After a few months use though the front part, under your thighs, is starting to bend...I think it might be a little expensive for not lasting long. Great at first but device does not last long. I would think it would be more durable, because you have to sit on it at an angle to get results, per the instructions. December 29, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by It really works! I bought the Backjoy for myself several years ago and love it, especially when traveling in the car. Since then, 3 other members of my family have bought the Backjoy, and all of them are very satisfied, like me. December 27, 2010

The back of the back joy seems hard and not completely smooth. I haven't used mine yet because it seems as though it could make marks on a wood chair or some fabrics. Is there a way to protect the chair and still receive all the benefits of using the back joy? For example, I thought of putting a towel between the chair and the back joy. I'm not sure if either the towel or the back joy would stay in place. I am concerned even more about possibly injuring my back by not sitting on the back joy properly because of trying to protect the chair!

Answer:
I had a similar concern, but solved the issue by simply keeping the Back Joy somewhat more forward on the chair seat. However, I was using the Back Joy on a padded chair, and I did find that after many months of use that the constant weight being placed on the balance point of the Back Joy, flattened the padding on that part of the chair. Now I have a permanent dent in the padding.

Answer:
I have never had any complaints of the back joy damaging a chair. However you should be fine placing a towel between it and the chair (as long as it doesn't seem like the towel is going to cause you to slide) if you are concerned. Just make sure the towel is laying flat and not bunched up.

I can't decide between ergonomic seat cushion and this product.
I have spondylolisthesis L5 over S1. so my lower back, not tailbone, hurts most of the time. Which one would you recommend?

Answer:
It really depends on what type of surfaces seem to cause you discomfort when sitting. If you can sit on something that is cushioned without it irritating your back I would go with the Ergonomic seat cushion. The Back Joy is a better choice for those whom prefer a firmer seat or who can't sit on soft surfaces for long periods of time without discomfort.
